I loved this book! In this book, it shows students shapes and colors. This book could be used as a mentor text because the students can refer to this book for shapes and colors. They can see how colors mix to make a new color, and they can see how shapes have different names for the amount of sides. ( )

I really enjoyed reading this book about colors and shapes! It was the perfect book that took a different route in the way it is taught. This book is all about colors and shapes battling it out to win the contest, but end up finding something more interesting! Splat! Colors and shapes are now joined together mixing and mingling. They realize that they can make a whole background scene of houses and a playground! I would love to share this with my students some day! I found it to be more interesting that it was humorous and not like a regular concept book. ( )

This book shows the different colors you can mix to make new ones. We also, see the different shapes we can put together to make different shapes. Both the shapes and colors are competing on who the book should be about. They have a competition and in the middle of it the color and shape mix together and see the amazing things they can do. ( )

"Colors Versus Shapes" by Mike Boldt was a concept book showing the importance of shapes and colors. The shapes thought they were better than colors, and the colors thought they were better than shapes. They find out in the end that they can work together to do something great. This gave all the shapes colors in the world and all the colors shapes in the world! This made everything beautiful! This book was used as a concept book for my research for my children's book. ( )

I LOVE IT! I especially love that the stars of 123 versus ABC are the judges at the end of the book. ( )
