I can never quite put my finger on it but this author definitely dapped into that magic. Add in second chance romance and this was even better. I liked the premise of the story of getting that chance to redo things after they didn't work out the first time. Especially, after wondering, in hindsight, if my marriage at 20 would have survived if we had been a little older and been more vocal in keeping our feelings from being buried. There were some areas that I had wished had been fleshed out a tad more but for the most part, this was an entertaining read. Everything else is. Their lives and wants never really matched up. Eventually this led to a divorce, but now two years later, they're still stuck in a limbo. They can't move on, but they can't go back to that unhappiness either. It's nice to read a story with established couples instead of instant attraction. These two are passed that. They have to really put in the effort to make it work. Also, their jobs add some interesting bits to the storyline. He never stopped loving his wife, but he let her go when it became clear he wasn't what she needed. She deserves more than a part-time lover who once broke her heart. Rafe wants a second chance to prove he can be the man she wanted when they fell in love. And Olivia still wants Rafe despite all the excellent reasons why she shouldn't.
