As king of the Myren race, Eryx is duty-bound to enforce the laws preventing exposure of their existence to humans. Yet The Fates have led him through his dreams to Lexi, a temptation he doesn't want to resist. The question is, is she Myren, or human - which makes her forbidden fruit? Pretty standard Rhenna Morgan. Hot (quite explicit, sexually); new, weird, and interesting setting; and horrible editing. When I have to read a sentence two or three times to figure out what the missing or incorrect word should have been, it's hard to stay in the story. Her stuff is really good except for that. A very intriguing universe, and I definitely want to read the rest of the series. Eryx is a little too overbearing for me - though he does communicate a lot better than many romance heroes. Even if his communication is frequently "Yes, I'm keeping secrets from you, I promise I'll tell you later". ( )

"Unexpected Eden" by Rhenna Morgan

My Thoughts....

What a excellent read for any urban fantasy/paranormal lover where the plot of this series will keep you turning the pages to the end. To live in Eden and to be a Malran or Fireann...wow what a fun read with such magical elements of this world that this author gives the reader. Be ready to read about a 'sexy hero [Eryx]with a strong heroine' [Alexis]with a big heart in this neat fantasy world where you will get a fast paced read with lots of action.

Has Eryx find his soulmate?

“Ten years he’d searched, dreamed and waited. And here he was, his soul perched on the edge of an emotional cliff.”

I found the secondary characters [Galena, Ramsay & Ludan] to name a few are all interesting intriguing people that will definitely have you wanting to know more about their special abilities[and you will from the other three Eden series].

What about that mating ceremony? Well, this is the time I say you must pick this read up and see for yourself how well this author presents all to her readers. So, if you are into the dramatic supernatural magical world that take on quite a steamy ride that is unique and mystical, twist and turns with 'a prophecy and scheming villain' then this read is for you. This was definitely a excellent beginning to this 'Eden' sequel. I loved the ending where the author gives the reader a glossary from Asshur to Zurun that were used in the novel.

I received this read from NOR in exchange for an honest review. ( )

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is the beginning of a great new series. For sure you will need the glossary provided at the end of the book but the concept, the characters are fresh and exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to read the rest of the series when it is released. ( )

What I Thought:

This is such a great book! If you, like me, are a lover of fantasy and are keen to read a little romance as well, then this is perfect.

The book is so well written. The theme of the book is one that is realistic enough that it is easy to get caught up in the story and almost believe that it is real. It is definitely one that you feel like it could actually happen. There are all the main points: a girl who needs a life she can enjoy, a man looking for his other half, friends and family to surround you, a horrible man who tries to ruin everything and, of course, your soon to be man is (sort-of) royalty.

I love that the beginning started with a woman who was content, but always wanted something more in her life. She had written off men and wasn't interested in even trying. She knew it would always end in heartache, but soon she is shown that is completely wrong and so much more. It was great to see her find out that some people are honest and can be trusted.

I was very drawn in to the romance between the two main characters. The amount of passion they felt was so strong it was almost unbearable, but in such a good way. It's the kind of passion we always dream of feeling and hope it's possible to find one day. The kind where a simple touch send jolts through your body.

I also thought it was important that there was a real fantasy point to the story, not just a bit of magic. They were actually caught up in the beginning of a great turmoil and it would take everyone and all their skills to keep Eden intact. It really brought out the fantasy element and that's what did it for me. I loved the romance, it was beautifully written, but having an excellent fantasy story alongside it was the icing on the cake.

Overall, the characters were excellent. The pace was great. I loved the fantasy nature and the supporting theme from the baddie, and subsequent action he caused. This book was excellent. I really enjoyed every page and feel that it is a book most fantasy, romance readers would love. ( )
