The story is about a man named tom and his bike. I like that it teaches what everything on the bike is called and all the things that he wears on a bike such as his helmet and backpack. the story follows tom on his journey to work where he passes a lot of cars, buses, people and trucks. He passes a lot of other things and people, that wold be included in a circus. Then you find out that tom works at the circus and hes actually the clown that rides a unicycle while balancing on a tight rope. The book is pretty good for those of a very young age, because they might find the pictures in the book very entertaining. ( )

This book made me smile. I love the colorful illustrations. Tom takes his bike to work and tells the reader what he sees along the way. I also like that Barton included a diagram of all the parts on a bicycle. ( )

Tom tells us about his bike. He also shows us to wear a helmet for safety. Then, he proceeds to tell us about his ride to work. He is a circus clown. The illustrations in this book are very cute and simple. One of the illustrations is the different parts of a bike. ( )

I liked the book My Bike for two reasons. I liked the plot of the book. It was an informative book, but it also had a story line. This made learning about bikes engaging and exciting. The narrator shows the different parts of the bike, but then rides the bike to work. There are many people, and different modes of transportation the narrator sees on the way. It is simple, but a good plot to make informational text easier for young children to read.

The second reason I liked this book was because of the unexpected surprise at the end. At the beginning of the book, the narrator is going through parts of the bike, then gets on it and rides to work. You do not know what the narrator does for a living as they are riding to work. However, the narrator starts riding past some unusual things. The trucks and busses the narrator was riding past were replaced with monkeys, acrobats and elephants. The fun surprise at the end is that the narrator is actually a clown that rides a unicycle in the circus. This surprise at the end made the book fun and interesting.

This book is an informational book that shows what each part of a bike is, and gives the names. The main idea of this book is to inform the readers on bikes, and show them different things they could see while on a bike ride. ( )

Young Reader Reaction: My 1 year old son loved this book. He is obsessed with wheels and moving vehicles and he loves bicycles. He loved pointing out the parts of the bikes, the cars, and the animals. My four year old daughter enjoyed it as well. She liked that Tom's job ended up being as a clown at the circus.

Adult Reader Reaction: I enjoyed the pictures and the story of this book. It was unexpected and fun. I was not surprised that my kids enjoyed this book. It was fun for all of us to read.
