"Tracy Campbell never wanted to leave Hope Harbor, Oregon, or the idyllic three-generation cranberry farm where she grew up. But life--and love--altered her plans. When tragedy strikes and changes her plans yet again, she finds herself back in her hometown with a floundering farm to run and a heartbreaking secret. Romance is not on her agenda. Nor is it on Michael Hunter's. The visitor from Chicago has daunting secrets of his own. Another great book by Irene Hannon! I love the characters but most of all I love the setting! I love beaches!
Tracy is busy with her job, helping her uncle with his cranberry farm and volunteering with Helpin Hands. She is also trying to find healing for her heart. Michael is looking for healing and decides to vacation in Hope Harbor. Anna is searching for healing too and reconnecting with her estranged son. Michael meets Tracy and he ends up getting very involved in her life. He also starts contemplating about reopening his heart. Anna has a change of heart over a disagreement that happened years ago with her son. Many circumstances bring Tracy and Michael closer to each other. If you want to know what else happens, read the book! You won't be disappointed! ( )

Hope Harbor is indeed a place of hope. For those needing somewhere to heal and regroup, it offers peace. Tracy has returned home to try to save her family’s cranberry farm, but she comes bearing a heavy burden. Michael, too, has had tragedy in his life, but he is a newcomer to Hope Harbor. He is trying to fulfill a promise, but it is really too late. These two damaged souls actually collide with each other, when he causes her to fall from her bike. And thus begins a long and twisty road to happier times for them both. Secondary characters also figure largely in the story, with interesting storylines of their own. The author does an excellent job of weaving these characters and their stories together into one entertaining and engrossing tale. ( )

I've read many books by this author--including others that come later in this series. I tend to prefer her romantic suspense to her clean romance, but Hope Harbor tends to draw me back.

It was nice to see the earliest book in the series, even though I knew some of the things that would happen later. I could also predict the plot quite a bit. Still, Hope Harbor is restful (well, it's supposed to be . . . it didn't seem like the title characters in this installment got much rest though--they did find healing.) It's a small town where residents know each other--which is good and bad--it can lead to people knowing your business when you don't want them to--but it can also be a good vehicle for people helping each other out.

Though my biggest complaint is my usual one: the romance develops way too fast for real life and proceeds to engagement with plans for marriage in a compressed amount of time. For real life, I'm not sure it would be enough time for them to really know each other or to know what they need to know about each other--then again, these two characters are older than some and both had deceased spouses so . . . This book wa very good about showing people that had to work through pain from the past. It was predictable how the story would turn out. The author did some research on cranberry farming. It was a good summer read. ( )

“Come to Hope Harbor-where hearts heal and love blooms.”
Hope Harbor is full of hurting people. Can they connect to be able to hope again?
Tracy Campbell and Michael Hunter are both mourning their spouses. Tracy is trying to lose herself in keeping her family business afloat. Could the new stranger in town be the answer to her prayers?
“What we want and what God sends our way are often two different things-but He always has our best interest at heart.”
When Michael comes to town, he impacts lives and finds purpose again.
Delightful story of hope and healing. A picturesque setting in Oregon with characters that you want to get to know.
“I have a feeling that in Hope Harbor, anything is possible.”
A visit to Hope Harbor is special and I will be returning.
* I purchased this ebook from Amazon. All opinions are my own.* ( )
