I’m not sure this book is really intended for children: it is so filled with majestic illustrations it will appeal to all ages. Children, especially younger ones, are likely to be over-whelmed by sensory overload. This oversized book is brim-full of magnificent drawings that you do, indeed, have to see to believe. The text is informative and works well with the illustrations. The book is correctly named – it is a wonder. ( )

This lavished illustrated book is about exploring 5 different habitats of the world. Each habitat is covered on the book with three sections: one on general information about the habitat, and two others about two different groups of animals that live in that particular ecosystem. The size and cover of the book are totally eye-catchers for any children and adult alike. It features a golden door printed with golden ink “indentations” (felt by touch), where animals in colors explode from all directions. The illustrations are exuberant and elegant, making the access to the scientific knowledge of these regions of the world in a fun and exciting way. After this journey love for nature and science in young readers is a given.
