Book description
"GINGER" HALE, senior pilot for the Pan American Airways, receives a last minute order from his division manager to report to the Pacific coast for trans-oceanic flight training, and to interview the Secretary of State at Washington en route. The latter gives Ginger some secret instructions for an American diplomatic agent in the Far East because he dared not trust his message to the mail or send it in code by wireless.

Ginger's business is now to find this roving diplomat and place the instructions in his hands within a limited period. The story thereafter is the story of how this intrepid pilot flew across America and then across the Pacific, encountering numerous delays and obstacles, but overcoming his difficulties one by one.

The story sets forth the entire technique of trans-pacific flight, with descriptions of the great clipper ship, the island ports en route, the ocean, its storms, and all the striking characteristics of a flight from America to the Far East.
