This was compiled as the result of a detailed study of the 1850 Federal Census of Texas, giving the birthplace and deaths of the inhabitants living in Texas in 1850. The book is arranged alphabetically by county for those persons who showed Tennessee as their birth state. Since the person showing Tennessee as the birth state is shown with the other members of his or her household, it becomes easy for one to see the migration patterns that many of these people took upon leaving Tennessee before their arrival in Texas.… (more)
