"Don't miss this sparkling debut full of heart and emotion!" raves Lori Wilde. The Hero's Welcome military romance series introduces a small coastal town where America's best and brightest risk everything for love. In Seaside, North Carolina, there are two kinds of people: Marines, and kids of Marines. Then there's Kat Chandler. Recently hired as the principal of Seaside Elementary, Kat makes it her mission to turn the school into a place of peace and calm. That's not going to be easy with hard-liner parents like Micah Peterson storming in, telling her how to do her job--and then kissing her with those gorgeous lips of his and turning her brain into mush. As a Marine Sergeant and a single dad, Micah Peterson has just two priorities: doing his job better than anyone else, and getting the absolute best for his son, Ben. But when he meets Ben's beautiful new principal, a different yearning shifts into focus. He wants her, sure, but he's also moved by the connection Kat forges with her students. So after learning that she refuses to date Marines, Micah sets two more objectives: convincing Kat to give him a chance . . . and then holding on to her forever. Praise for Welcome to Forever " Welcome to Forever is a beautiful and touching story of love and loss that will grab you by the heart and hold on long after you've finished reading." -- USA Today bestselling author Laura Drewry "A wonderfully written debut novel that had me fighting back tears and rooting for the couple from the first page. Annie Rains is an author to watch. I can't wait for more!" -- USA Today bestselling author Sidney Halston "Emotional, heartwarming and completely engaging . . . I highly recommend this one to those looking for a contemporary romance that was realistic instead of angst-filled, with characters who are likable and so deserving of a happy ending." --Girl Plus Books Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.… (more)

~3.5 stars~

If you are looking for an easy, fast sweet read then this is your book. I enjoyed reading, but felt like something was missing that would have added another star. Still can't put my finger on what it was though.

The characters were good. Kat and her ideas/thoughts about the school made for interesting reading outside of the romance part. Ben was totally lovable. Micah was lacking in the character dept. though.

All together it is worth a read just to bring a little sweetness into your day.

After losing her Fiancé in Afghanistan 2 years ago, Kat Chandler was happy just to lose herself in her new job, as the principal for Seaside Elementary, but with a vice principal who was against her, and a vandalism starting on the first day of school, Kat was frustrated. But the new grounds keeper sure made her smile.

Micah Peterson was the man of many hats! Marine, groundskeeper at Seaside Elementary, but first and foremost, he was Ben's dad! Ben was the pride of Micah's life, and with Ben having Cerebral Palsy, that certainly led to its only set of challenges. But Micah is determined for Ben to have a normal life, even if his mother decided her career in the miltary was more important than her son.

After a miscommunication between Micah and Kat over Ben, they begin to get close, that is until Kat finds out that Micah is a Marine!

I was thrilled to be reading another of Annie Rains books; She writes tear-jerker books that manages to feel your heart with love, and that is why she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. The authors writing is smooth and magical and the plot weaves it's was into subconscious, so much so, that you find yourself thinking about the story, weeks after you have read the books, and I have to say that Welcome to Forever is a prime example of that!

I absolutely loved all of the characters in the book and the relationship between Kat and Micah is magical and heartwarming, but I will admit, Ben totally stole my heart! He is such a brave little boy and such a inspiration.

Welcome to Forever is a beautiful story of second chance love and taking a risk! Which is why I give it 5 stars. ( )

♥ ♥ ♥ This is the debut novel from this author and I thought the story had a good plot. Rains filled the story with some large issues to deal with: Single parenting, bullying, a child with cerebral palsy, grief for a dead fiancé..not to mention the few other difficulties she threw in for plot twists.. at times it felt like perhaps, if there were less things to deal with, the major issues could have been addressed more fully. Though as in life sometimes it all happens at once.

Micah was a decent character, he’s a good dad to Ben and works hard to make their life the best he can give them. I found Kat likeable… at times however, she was a bit wishy-washy and for a smart woman, sometimes a bit clueless.

The two had pretty good chemistry, though their feelings for each other and their situations seemed to run hot and cold from one minute to the next.

The secondary characters were interesting. If there is a follow up book, I may check it out.
