{My thoughts} – Celebrations happen everywhere and it’s always nice to learn about new celebrations and traditions. In Eva’s town they have a celebration called Warm Hearts Day. This celebration is to help remind all the animals about a Fairy that had taught them all to be loving and true to themselves in order to help others.

Eva goes out in search of special gifts for her family and unintentionally reminds animals of the Forrest what the true meaning of Warm Hearts Day is.

I really like the lesson in this book. It’s about helping others and being kind, it’s about giving without the expectation of receiving. All to often children think they should get and shouldn’t give anything. This book helps to show that those that give have the potential to brighten up someone’s day.

When you think about it, it’s the little things that make the biggest differences. Eva does little things throughout gherkin book but in the end all those little things make a big difference to the animals of the Forrest.

I really enjoy these books. They have bright illustrations, Sine stories and easy to understand lessons. Also at the red of each book there are discussion questions that can be used to further discuss the understanding of the book. ( )

Eva is super excited for the winter holiday Warm Hearts Day, which she will share with friends and family. In the week leading up to the holiday, they bake cookies, make crafts, write cards, purchase presents, and more. Along the way, Eva is reminded that the holiday is ultimately about kindness.

This was a nice way to talk about holidays -- and what makes them both fun and meaningful -- while remaining secular. It's fairly obvious that the holiday being mimicked is Christmas, but since it is not named as such, this book could work for readers of any religious (or non-religious) background.

This title is part of the wildly popular Owl Diaries series, although it didn't seem to matter much that I hadn't read any of the previous titles. The short chapters with only a handful of paragraphs per page and lots of illustrations make this the perfect book for those kids who are reading on their own but aren't quite ready to tackle the much weightier chapter books.

Cute for what it is, but don't expect anything too mind-blowing here. I'm sure the target audience will enjoy. ( )

All the owls are being busy bees its almost warm hearts day and they need presents for their family and friends. Eva is struck with a problem once she is reminded her family will not receive gifts can she make them in time before warm hearts day.
