The Captain from Connecticut: Brilliant sea yarn with battles and pirates and a mad love affair. Great stuff. Good historical research combined with CSF’s writing style makes this book a real winner. ( )

CSF takes us to the Caribbean, and in a stab at Anglo-saxon solidarity tries to create an American rival to Hornblower. It is not one of his better books. Read it when you have the time... ( )
