With this smart and compelling thriller, David Lagercrantz proves himself able to continue this worthy series.

Wow this was a good one. All the characters were here from previous books, and Lisbeth still has a big chip on her shoulder, but this time the book delved into her childhood a bit more, and other who had similar experiences. This made the book particularly interesting.
Great read. ( )

It's extremely unfortunate David doesn't have a handle on the Millenium characters, especially Salander. I also feel his storytelling abilities are weak in comparison to the original; use of details irrelevant to the story for one. I'm not sure I'd bother reading anymore of his Millenium books since this one is worse then #4, though it was good to learn about Salander's twin in that one. Sorry folks, I can't recommend this. ( )

The Girl who takes an Eye for an Eye. A Lisbeth Salander novel. David Lagecrantz.2017. This is the second book in the Millennium Series Lagecrantz has written to continue the books written by Stieg Larsson. He does a excellent job of mimicking Larsson, but his books don’t have quite the edge. Never the less, these are fun, exciting books to read, and if you are a Lisbeth Salander fan you are happy to read them. Lisbeth is unfairly in prison following the events in The Girl in the Spider ‘s Web, where she severely injures a bully who is torturing a young Moslem girl. Meanwhile she is doing research on her own past and enlists Blomkvist to help. Lots of plot twists and violence. ( )

The reader is repeatedly told that Salander and Blomkvist are driven by a desire for justice, but because we spend so little time in close-up with the book’s heroine, it is not convincing. There is a sluggishness to the plotting and much of the tension relies on orchestrated interruptions and delays, which irritate. Lagercrantz has all the elements of the Millennium series at his disposal, but the adrenaline is missing: it feels as if one has gone to a restaurant, ordered a rare steak and been served soggy fish fingers instead.
