I thought the end of the book had some slow parts but I still really enjoyed it. I thought the character and the world building was the highlights of the books. I really loved the duel POV that was got in the story and loved the morally gray characters that we met. I really loved the siren mythology that we were exposed too. I would def read more by this author in the future. It is the first mermaid/ siren book I read with a strong focus and it made me exited to read more! * I got this book from the publisher and gave it 4.5 stars* I really enjoyed this book a lot. My main complaint for this book is that it’s only a stand-alone, I would have loved more books of this. This is the first book I’ve truly sank into in a while, I love the concept, the writing, characters and plot. A refreshing take on a story we could easily have heard a hundred times before, this book exceeded my expectations when the last few hyped up books have just been disappointing, so thank you author! I need more like this :) Princess Lira is siren royalty and the most lethal of them all. With the hearts of seventeen princes in her collection, she is revered across the sea. Until a twist of fate forces her to kill one of her own. To punish her daughter, the Sea Queen transforms Lira into the one thing they loathe most—a human. Robbed of her song, Lira has until the winter solstice to deliver Prince Elian’s heart to the Sea Queen or remain a human forever. The ocean is the only place Prince Elian calls home, even though he is heir to the most powerful kingdom in the world. Hunting sirens is more than an unsavory hobby—it’s his calling. When he rescues a drowning woman in the ocean, she’s more than what she appears. She promises to help him find the key to destroying all of sirenkind for good—But can he trust her? And just how many deals will Elian have to barter to eliminate mankind’s greatest enemy? no reviews | add a review

It's an interesting variation on the Little Mermaid story. I enjoyed it. ( )
