Excerpt from Foreign Crops and Markets, Vol. 59: August 1, 1949The l9h8-h9'wool marketing season in Uruguay opened in October with good demand at high prices. As the season progressed, demand dropped off and the market was practically paralyzed by February. Exports for the first 6 months were down 26 percent below the same period for the 19h7-h8 season, This was due mainly to unrealistic pricing, as prices 'were approximately 30 percent above world levels. In.recent weeks trade baa-been resumed at prices about one-third less than the peak reached early this year and about one-fifth.lower than at the same time last year.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
