Orphaned and sold to a harsh master, Lera's life is about mucking stalls, avoiding her master's advances, and steering clear of the mystical forest separating the mortal and fae worlds. Only fools venture into the immortal realms, and only dark rumors come out... Until four powerful fae warriors appear at Lera's barn. River, Coal, Tye, and Shade have waited a decade for their new fifth to be chosen, the wounds from their quint brother's loss still raw. But the magic has played a cruel trick, bonding the four immortal warriors to... a female. A mortal female. Distractingly beautiful and dangerously frail, Lera can only be one thing--a mistake. Yet as the males bring Lera back to the fae lands to sever the bond, they discover that she holds more power over their souls than is safe for anyone... especially for Lera herself.… (more)

I've read the first two books of the series.

It's strengths:
- good audiobook narration
- strong fmc
- enjoyable smut
- intersting world

It's flaws:
- unoriginal
- clichée
- cure to all emotional wounds is physical intimacy
- magical instalove
- shallow plot
- extremely predictable
- tstl mc

Okay I have to be honest here. Reading one of the other reviews, actually a couple of the other reviews, I automatically thought this was going to be some sort of young adult fluff piece.

However, they haven't even had sex yet and I'm like jaw-dropping on the ground turned the you know what on. Because there is nothing more awesome than some massive foreplay from guys who know what the you know what they are doing.

I mean come on ladies. You know just as well as I do, a guy who knows what they're doing when it comes to foreplay, can get you off faster than shoving their dick anywhere in your body. LOL sorry for being crude but come on. And she's got four of these guys. Okay granted in this book we haven't seen two of them in action but come on now, just the freaking tension alone is enough to like put your sexual instincts on high alert.

Lordy lordy lordy. I can't wait to see what comes next. There were a few things that kind of struck me as odd. But you know what, I just don't care. I am a smut girl. And if you can talk to that side of my secret closet life, then I will be yours until the end of time. Let's hope that the rest of the books follow along just like this.

Oh my god. I'm like freaking out here. Hi to all my followers that are reading this right now. Maybe it's hormones. Maybe I'm just I don't know, oh I know what it is it's relief from the break in the heat wave. Yeah that's it. LMFAO ( )

Fast paced start to the series, I couldn’t stop listening to it. I liked the main character, Leralynn a mortal human, I also liked the 4 Fae warriors. The five of them are now a group thrown together by magic and being a RH book you know what that will mean. The story works really well, world and character building was great as I felt I got to know them all. I thoroughly enjoyed Power of Five and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
The narrator did a fine job, her accents were brilliant.

Well-written with just a pinch of heat and a lot of magic. ( )

A fun read. This genre isn't really my thing, but I knew that going in, so I was able to find humor in the tragically smitten fae warriors and their oddly geometrically shaped muscles. (Apparently abs = squares lol). Behind the attractive warriors there is actually a pretty involved plot brewing involving magic and uppity fae councilor politics, so that was an added bonus.

Extended comments:
One advantage of RH is that there are multiple types of love interests. Aloof prince? Little-angsty one? Incorrigible flirt? Protective puppy? Yup, you can have 'em all, without the agony of trying to predict who will be end game because The Girl Gets Them All. My advice: enjoy the ride and laugh if the relationships seem over the top (because let's face it, they often are).

PSA: contains mature scenes (if you didn't know). ( )
