In this book Darren R. Weissman describes the healing modality he has invented/discovered, which has reportedly healed many of his clients.

The theory underlying this technique is that all symptoms and diseases are caused by “subconsciously internalized, denied, or disconnected emotions” that create blockages in the patient’s acupuncture meridians. When Weissman “runs” his Lifeline Flow Chart, he/she is enabled to reconnect to these emotions, which thus results in healing. The power of Infinite Love and Gratitude is at some stage invoked (perhaps during the “running” of the Lifeline Flow Chart, and it is this that actually effects the healing.

Another key factor in the Lifeline Technique is the application of the Five Basics of Optimal Health –water, food, rest, exercise and owning your power. He provides detailed rules to follow in these areas.

As regards his eating programme, I can only say it is definitely not for me, since it absolutely necessitates consuming 9 ounces per week of red meat, which I decline to eat (as well as several foodstuffs which I can’t eat, at least at the moment. without a severe reaction). The author’s argument for the eating of red meat is that “our bodies don’t have the enzymes to break down protein from nonmeat sources such as legumes or tofu in order to extract and use (the) L-methionine” they contain. L-methionine is an amino acid that is apparently crucial to our optimal nutrition. (The key factor in the author’s understanding of how to obtain optimal health has to do with balancing the blood sugar metabolism, and for him red meat, and thus L-methionine is essential.) What I would ask is why can’t we instead consume protein powder, or, if appropriate, L-methionine alone?

Weissman states that practically all of us in Western society have blood-sugar malfunctions (he is probably correct in this view). As regards the red meat thing, he is supported here by Dr. Jacqueline Paltis and her “Sugar Control Bible and Cookbook” on which he bases his own nutritional recommendations. Under their system you need to eat every two hours (luckily not also when sleeping).

Weissman coins the term “Present Time Consciousness” (PTC) which is “staying connected to your senses – what you see, hear, smell, touch and taste, and how your intuition is guiding you in the moment.” You need to be constantly in PTC (isn’t this the same as the “Now”?

In my view, “owning your power” is a key factor, and much overlooked. Owning your power is “living with Infinite Love and Gratitude” and means “embracing all aspects of life with passion, purpose and courage” and reconnecting to the emotions that are dormant in our subconscious mind. This is the key to reclaiming our authentic self. Most of us have lost contact with this by repressing and disconnecting to our emotions – which has resulted in the prevalence of chronic diseases in our society.

The author states that people like myself with auto-immune diseases are in “Death Mode” as opposed to “Life Mode”. When Death Mode is switched to Life Mode, people begin to heal.

Of course, the crucial factor in the work is the power of Infinite Love and Gratitude, which Weissman discovered through the work of Japanese researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto. Dr. Emoto found that water exposed to pollution, heavy metal music or negative words either were unable to form crystals at all or else formed greatly distorted ones, while the most beautiful crystals formed were those exposed to the words “Love” and “Gratitude”. I myself have studied the works of Emoto and admired his crystals, so I know of the strong and curative effect of these words. What I don’t know is exactly how Weissman applies these words in his treatment.

On the whole, and this is a basic lack/shortcoming/defect of the book, the author neglects to inform us of the details/nitty-gritty of his actual basic treatment, thus leaving the reader who wants to put the technique into practice totally frustrated. I know of the power of love and gratitude, but how to apply it? Though Weissman’s Flow Chart, which he “runs” (whatever he means by that), is portrayed in the book, I did not find it at all enlightening. I understand he uses muscle testing in connection with the Flow Chart to test the clients, but he needs to be more explicit in his explanation of how to use it –in actual fact he utterly neglects to explain how to use it. Also, it is quite esoteric, so one can’t oneself find out how to use it.

Thus, I’ll give the book 4 stars only, and don’t really feel I can absolutely recommend it, though it does contain much wisdom and explains the theory of the system. I might perhaps recommend that you consult a Lifeline Technique Practitioner, if you have severe health issues, but I didn’t find much practical advice in the book, at least not as regards the power of Infinite Love and Gratitude. (But you can try just saying the phrase innumerable times directed to any ailing parts of your body!) ( )
