This is basically a small graphic explosion of loathing for what we used to call "sensitive New Age men", updated for the hipster era. The cartoonist-comedian has encountered way too many of these creatures who whine when they don't receive plaudits for their occasional weak efforts to act decently. She also self-indicts for the amount of time and energy she poured into these leaky vessels in her misguided efforts to change them. It's savagely bitter and amusing but also pretty pitiful. Men and women should read it and weep.

Quotes: "To be too successful, too strong, too dominant, too angry, too unwomanly, too unmanly, too nothing, too everything, is to disrupt the illusion of the man as the one who sets the rules, who holds the chisel."

"During the years in which I gave up so much of myself to men, I failed to account for the needs of my friends, my work, my self-growth in ways I am still reconciling." ( )

Comics and essays exploring the ways in which (white, straight) boys get a pass in life for doing the absolute bare minimum.

Mehhh. It's just not my type of humor. If you really feel strongly about this, give it a try, it might be yours. ( )
