When word got out that Tiffany Jenkins was withdrawing from opiates on the floor of a jail cell, people in her town were shocked. i feel very neutral about this book.. not awful.. not great.. the tone of this book is very "white valley girl" and i found that very annoying. she talked like fun girlfriend retelling a cool story which made for a readable book, but i don't think it was the right tone for this subject matter. it also comes across as if Tiffany Jenkins thinks her story is incredible because she was dating a cop while she was using? but idk it was just fine ( )

Brutally honest, often disturbing and unflinching in her account of her years as a drug addict, Tiffany provides a glimpse into her feelings of desperation, despair, followed by triumphant hope and recovery. ( )

Beyond being a story of inspiration and hope in the grip of addiction, High Achiever is very well written by a natural story teller. At different times you will be on the edge of your seat, have tears streaming down your face, or uncontrollably smiling so hard that your cheeks hurt. Tiffany Jenkins has a number of videos on Facebook sharing the joys and challenges of her current life: Juggling the Jenkins. I encourage everyone, whether they've struggled with addiction or not, to check out this book and/or her videos on Facebook.

Interesting read about how addiction spiral out of control. Also, insight on being in jail and the consequences along with the success afterwards. ( )
