This is a good news, bad news sort of review. First, the interviews done are thorough; and I enjoy how much the author cuts down the mythology that has been built up around the making of this epic record. But, what's hard to overcome is how much outside of the interviews is written towards the music geek. It's hard to enjoy a metaphor that's really more of an inside joke, and that's what happens when a writer keeps name checking the most obscure references possible. (
