This is a collection of some of Mr. McArthur's writings intended for use in schools, as are all the volumes in the Kings Treasuries of Literature series. This is the 258th in the series. It includes a short biographical note. The first paragraph of the first piece: "My Friends, the Trees" might have been written with me in mind. I remember having the same feelings about a large macrocarpa about 100 yards from my childhood home. Accordingly, I enjoyed this little book immensely as he described life on a farm in Ontario, Canada. The book has been used/owned by Joan Brown (Grade XI), Catherine McMullen (Grade 11) in 1950 and Marie DeVoogdt (Grade 11) in 1951 as evidenced by their inscriptions on the flyleaf.
