Really enjoyed this biography of Cliff Richard written by someone who has clearly spent a lot of time researching and interviewing key people in Cliff's life. Despite being nearly 20 years old, the book is still a really interesting read because of the attention to detail and covers the first 30 years of Cliff's career with lots of facinating anecdotes from family, colleagues and friends. I particularly enjoyed the family history at the beginning which researched his family tree and story back through to his great grandparents. ( ) no reviews | add a review
This full-scale biography takes readers behind the events of Cliff's life to discover the people, stories and tensions which have shaped the Cliff Richard of today. Cliff Richard's chart success is second only to that of Elvis Presley, his durability as an entertainer is unparalleled, his popularity, five decades into his career, is greater now than it has ever been. What Cliff stands for has aroused interest as well. His celibacy, his Christian faith and his outspoken views on moral issues make him a puzzling figure in the world of rock and pop.
