Robert Bridges was not only Poet Laureate, but one of the unquestioned 'major' poets of his time. It certainly does seem a disgrace that, except for the short and incomplete check-list published by Mr. Leslie Chaundy about 1920, no bibliography of Robert Bridges should have appeared in England. Surely there should be some limit to that profound contempt for the intellect on which the British Empire is built. As it is, every collector will be grateful to America for an admirably filling this lamentable gap upon our bibliographical shelves.
