ENGLISH DESCRIPTION The deeds of the romantic and adventurous Aenlin in El Cid Campeador's Spain.     Aenlin, an intrepid and intelligent, thirteen year old girl, a merchant's daughter in Colonia and passionate about horses, agrees to secretly take her twin brother's place on the back of a magnificent mare, Meletay, on a trip through Spain. Once there, an unfortunate encounter with el Cid will forever change her destiny. Sold as a slave and later made the jewel of an important harem, Aenlin will travel around Al Andalusia and fall in love with its culture and people. When Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar turns up in her life again, she won't hesitate for a moment to follow her love to where ever he takes her, making her a witness to his triumphs and defeats.   In a time when fratricidal wars, social hypocrisy and the lack of qualms on the part of men who battled for power left women with very little range of motion, Aenlin, condemned to be a servant, will manage to rebel against her destiny.  … (more)
