I love the whole Macgregor series! I bought the whole collection in paperback and re-read them every now and then. This was the first book I read so I'm leaving my review on here instead of leaving a review on each one.
All of the stories starred strong women, swoon worthy men, a laugh out loud and emotional story line.

The one thing I loved the most is the person who binds them all together; Daniel Macgregor!! The old schemer is a hoot. I wish I had him as a grandpa! Even though he meddles (of course to him it's just a little nudge) with the love lives of his children and grandchildren he does it out of love. When finding out what he has done of course they get angry but it doesn't last, it's hard to stay mad at him.
I don't know how Nora Roberts came up with a bigger than life, fun loving, mischievous, and big hearted character but thank goodness she did!

I know Ms. Roberts is finished with series but I wish she would come up with two more books because we're missing Matthew and Adriene's HEA ( )

This was my first time meeting anyone from the famous MacGregor clan so I cannot be sure if I would've enjoyed the read a little more if I had followed the series from the beginning. To me, this felt too short. Since this was a 3-in-1 novel, every character's love story was crammed into their respective allotted pages, and while it was nice to be given three storylines neatly packaged in time for Christmas (where each story ends), I would've appreciated more time with the characters, perhaps with more details and a greater opportunity to be fleshed out. I also didn't like the way each story ended, which was rather abruptly for my tastes. It could be chalked up to just not having enough time to explore each section and I think having read standalone Nora Roberts books before, even in trilogies, may have spoiled me enough to expect more...buildup.

It's a cute mini trilogy all in one, and definitely worth picking up if you've read the previous MacGregor novels and want to get a sneak peek at where past MacGregor clan characters are now. When compared to other NR books though, don't expect too much from this one. ( )

This book is what it is and my problem was that I didn't really know what it was going in. I thought it would be a simple chick-lit but it was actually a full blown Mills & Boon boon which, stupidly, I didn't realise until I started reading. Stupidity aside, it was decent enough. Not my style of book at all, but it is what it is and I suppose if you like that genre then it would be a lot of fun. For me though it was just something a bit light, easy to read and...just okay. [The MacGregor Brides] by [[Nora Roberts]]
#8 in MacGregor series

3-in-1 book. Stories about three cousins whose love interests are hand-picked by their loveable but meddlesome grandfather, Daniel MacGregor (a recurring theme with the MacGregor series).
1. Laura (lawyer & daughter of Caine M. & Diana Blade) is matched with Royce Cameron (owner of security company).
2. Gwendolyn (ER doc & daughter of Sarena M. & Justin Blade) is matched with author Branson Maguire. She initially agrees to help him with research for a new book about a female doctor who snaps and becomes a serial killer.
3. Julia (real estate/house flipper & daughter of former president Alan M. & Shelby Campbell) matched with Cullum Murdoch (building contractor).
Predictable romances but good chemistry, enviable family dynamics, enjoyable read. ( )
