I couldn't stop reading. It has the thrill of wanting to catch the killer and some funny parts that gave it a great release from the intensity. I hope Mike Omer keeps going with the Zoey story line and even includes O'Donnell in her own series. ( )

“Coca-Cola, a fresh taste after seeing a brain being scooped out of a skull.”

If a vampire hasn’t ‘come out’ to friends and family, they are still “In the closet”! And if they join forces with a serial killer, look out!

“Churches and crosses didn’t keep you safe from vampires in the real world. At least not from this one.”

Well, this book was certainly a page turner, but not quite as engrossing as the first two in the series. I think Zoe Bentley is a great character, and if this really is 'Book 3 of 3', she will be missed. Marvin too! Maybe they can both slide into the new Abby Mullen series? What do you think Mr. Omer? A delusional killer who likes—or needs—to drink blood, along with the return of Zoe’s sadistic nemesis from the first two books in this series, make for a dark and twisted read.

This book is not for the squeamish. Mike Omer spares no details. We see what these psychopathic killers are like, up close and personal, and we feel it from both the killers’ and the victims’ perspectives.

I liked that the storylines converge here, so the new case intertwines with the ongoing case from the first two books, and we finally see resolution.

I had minor issues with the portrayal of the delusional killer, who is completely out of touch with reality at some points, but also able to hold down a job and appear “normal” when necessary. I got that he was spiraling out of control, but sometimes the timing felt too convenient. Even so, I found him interesting, and I enjoyed the dynamics between him and Rod Glover, our original psychopath.

Thicker Than Blood is a twisted tale of two killers; one who gets off on control and one who will do anything to get the blood he believes he needs. While you could probably read it as a stand-alone, I recommend starting with A Killer's Mind, book one, to better understand all the intricacies of the story. ( )

Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book for my honest review!
Here we are again, the 3rd and final book in the Zoe Bentley Chronicles.
Zoe Bentley a Forensic Psychologist for the FBI, and world known Criminal Profiler is in Chicago chasing down the infamous Rod Glover, Now going by Daniel Moore, Zoe recently found out he is dying from a malignant brain tumor and is convinced to find him before he dies. Zoe pushes herself and Tatum into a new murder, trying to find out if it is related to the Rod Glover murders, although some of the evidence proves otherwise. Why were these woman drained of blood? Does Rod Glover have an accomplice? What are the motives for these killings? Why is Glover straying from his normalcy? The twists and turns will keep you guessing and turning the page wanting more.
I absolutely love this series. I love this author and the way he writes. He keeps you always wanting more, with the end of every book in the series, it’s a cliff hanger. All the characters have a strong sense of self, Zoe and Tatum especially. In this book, O’Donnell is the new lead Detective, who is also incredibly determined, smart and essential. Marvin, is probably my favorite character, he delivers humor into all 3 of these books, you can’t help but laugh at his personality and the things he does. This book is faced paced like the rest and you won’t know “who did it” until the author wants you too. Great ending, and great story line, although this one is more on the gruesome side than the other 2 books, although that doesn’t bother me. I LOVED IT! Highly recommend. ( )
