One of BuzzFeed's best YA books of 2021!

Perfect for fans of the Lady Janies and Stalking Jack the Ripper, the first book in the Jane Austen Murder Mysteries trilogy is a clever retelling of Pride and Prejudice that reimagines the iconic settings, characters, and romances in a thrilling and high-stakes whodunit.

When a scandalous murder shocks London high society, seventeen-year-old aspiring lawyer Lizzie Bennet seizes the opportunity to prove herself, despite the interference of Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, the stern young heir to the prestigious firm Pemberley Associates.

Convinced the authorities have imprisoned the wrong person, Lizzie vows to solve the murder on her own. But as the caseâ??and her feelings for Darcyâ??become more complicated, Lizzie discovers that her dream job could make her happy, but it might also get her killed.

Three of Jane Austen's classic novels receive a murder mystery makeover in this romantic and thrilling three-book series that's perfect for fans of The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy.

Pride and Premeditation is followed by Sense and Second-Degree Murder, in which aspiring scientist Elinor Dashwood and her sister Marianne, a budding detective, work together to solve the mystery of their father's murder.… (more)

Good writing, a lot of fun, though totally impossible at the time period, as the author admits. Still, I needed a break from the heavy stuff I've been reading, and I might even read the second book. Wonder how popular it is with teens, reading a book set in Regency England. ( )

I really adored this read. It was the prefect balance between historical fiction and also a murder mystery element. I also really loved how this story adapted all the pride and prejudices characters. I also loved Lizzie as main character and her desire to be lawyer. I also loved how lizzie was the heart of uncovering the mystery. I also really loved the classic hate to love romance between lizzie and darcy. I flew through this read and am so excited to see what story they tell next!! ( )

Pride and Prejudice Cozy Murder Mystery = Great fun!

What a delight! Tirzah Price did a wonderful job of creating a murder mystery story out of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It is set in the same time period and utilizes the characters of P & P, but reworks them in a way to fit a cozy murder mystery story line. It was a bit predictable but still immensely enjoyable.

Less a re-telling and more a co-opting of characters and character interaction, this novel is a fun twist on the world of Jane Austin fan fiction. Lizzie is an aspiring lawyer going head to head with Darcy in the solving of a murder and proving herself competent. I enjoyed the cozy mystery aspect of this novel and it was fun to have familiar characters. ( )
