Evangeline is so sweet and hopeful it's sickening, but in a way that grew on me lol 3.5 stars I liked this book, Evangeline is more interesting than Tella from Caraval, but not as much as Scarlett. I think the author tries to make the series more complicated with her writing which doesn’t pan out too well in my opinion. It’s a little surface-level. I hope the rest of the series is as good as people say. A unique, mysterious fairytale, with semi-familiar tropes. But the tales are a bit mixed up and jumbled in this one, leaving one quite unsure as to who is good, who is bad and how the "ever after" will conclude. First in a series. Ends in a cliffhanger, so get the second queued up before you finish this one! no reviews | add a review
