curious george (monkey) was asked by his owner to stay out of trouble and accidentally made a huge mess - even though his intention was good and was trying to help. He was quick thinking and problem solved a way to fix it. After the solution, he was rewarded by a birthday party for himself.

This book was fun to read! Could be used to read to a child when it is their birthday. Early reader's can use this book and other curious george books to practice reading. ( )

This book is about a monkey named George that cannot stop being curious about the surprise that his best friend (the man in the yellow hat) was planning for him. There are hints in the book that there is going to be a party but George is not familiar with parties so he snoops around and gets into little shenanigans. This is a great book to read aloud to kids because it keeps them entertained with George's curiosity and it also teacher them kindness and gratefulness towards others. ( )

Curious George is a classic and I love pretty much all of his stories. This story is about the man in the yellow hat planning a surprise birthday party for George. George, of course, gets into mischief beforehand with the cake but is able to think of a way to solve the problem on his own. ( )

Genre: Fantasy
Review: The author does a good job of creating a story that could not happen in our world. This book follows a curious monkey as he discovers his world with the man in the yellow hat. The man throws George a birthday party and the story unfolds as George tries to figure out what the surprise is.
