i really like how much time on the page is given to the growth of the main character here, that this isn't about the relationship so much as grief and allowing yourself to become who you're meant to be. i enjoyed this. ( )

* I got this book for review*'

This is a book that is nice balance between self disovery path and dealing with grief and a LGBTQ story. It does also hav elemnts of a love triangle as well. The main character is also dealing with grief during most of this read. I also loved the use of list to craft her summer. This character is very much drowing in her grief and i felt a little disconnected from her character throuhgout this read and there was some elements of miscommuncation elements that are not always my favorite but i liked it and would def read more by this author in the future. I've read a lot of books throughout my life and I can truly say that The Lucky List was one of my favorites of all time. It's a sweet, charming book about a teen girl named Emily who lost her mom who befriends the daughter of her dad's best friend, named Blake. When hanging out together, Emily finds an old list of her mom's that was filled with activities for her to do over the Summer. Emily, with the help of Blake, decides to try and complete the list herself. Eventually, a romance between both girls begins to bloom. It was a wonderful, charming, joyful book. ( )

This is a coming of age book whose protagonist, Emily, is a senior in high school who is still coping with the loss of her mother who died of cancer three years ago. She discovers in an old yearbook of her mothers a bucket list that her mother wrote. She decides to follow in her mother's footsteps, because she herself feels lost. Her friend Blake, whom is a lesbian, is by her side the entire time. In the end she finally figures out what has been missing from her life and it isn’t only her mother, it’s her true identity. That she herself is actually gay as well.

If you are looking for a cute fun summer read I totally this one, especially now during pride month! ( )
