The Commission of Counter Ghoul is the only organization fighting the Ghoul menace, and they will use every tool at their disposal to protect humanity from its ultimate predator. But both the procedure and the newly formed Qs Squad are untested. Will they become heroes--or monsters?!... The Ghoul-CCG alliance secures its first victory when it rescues Kaneki from the monster he was entombed within. But the creature still poses a dire threat to the city as it continues to birth mutant Ghouls, some of which are infecting humans with a horrific form of Ghoulism! Wow, Tokyo Ghoul was a wild (and very, VERY confusing) ride. The ending was much... happier than I was expecting, and it felt very abrupt, so I'm not sure whether I'm really satisfied with how the story wrapped up. In the end I suppose it was nice to have a glimpse of the characters' lives beyond the story's end. Either way, it feels kind of bittersweet to think I'll never be waiting for the next :re volume to drop again... ( )
