"In the tradition of Workman's Every Body Yoga, we're bringing a proud, plus-sized, body-positive attitude to the world of hiking and outdoor recreation. Summer Michaud-Skog, founder of the Fat Girls Hiking community, offers a book brimming with heartfelt stories, practical advice, personal profiles of FGH community members, and trail reviews. It all serves to spread the Fat Girls Hiking message of inclusivity in the outdoors. Equal parts empowering and impassioned, personal and practical, this book adds an important voice to the conversation about diversity in the outdoors, raising visibility of hikers who have too long been marginalized. This was a great listen, but FYI the ebook has extra trail reviews in it. I have a complicated relationship with the outdoors, but this is an inspiring read to help me start to rethink it. I loved all the women sharing their experiences (and I hope the gear companies read this and get cracking on more gear for fat people); the takeaway I got was continue to move in ways that work best for me and everyone is allowed to be in nature.
