I had wondered, before reading this, if iy would still like the story that absolutely blew me away many years ago. Now that I've read and seen so many stories, would this one still seem rich and compelling?

Yes. It absolutely does. Gareth Hines did a fabulous job with the illustrations, and I had tears in my eyes more than once, despite already knowing the story and events!! That's some impressive work. ( )
