The tale involves a reporter urged to do a review of 30 year old disappearance of a young woman, still unsolved. He gets a clue through a mysterious phone call but dies when he is hit by a bus near the end of Reykjavik's 200 year aniversary celebration. His siter takes up the story and discovers the solution against the background of the Reagan/Gorbachev summit. An excellent atmospheric mystery.
