I honestly thought this would be a 5 star but the plot of this book enraged me.
You’ve got SA victims committing SA against others and were meant to think that’s a great love story??
The main love interest is a genocide-loving prick who will also kill little girls or his own brother for being a sympathiser - I couldn’t stand him.
Rune is an idiot of the highest order.
Alex DESERVED better. This man is a goddamn saint and pays with his life for it. If you think I’d want to read the second book to see her love the guy who SAd her, caused his brothers death and still wants to kill her - no Thankyou ( )

3.5 stars. This has an ending that I would have waited for the second book to come out for before reading had I known. I like the premise of a witch and a witch hunter playing cat and mouse, and the setting is fun. It definitely feels pretty young despite some violence and intimacy, like we could go deeper into the world to get a better picture of what life is like. I will probably read the next book though. Audiobook: 5 star narrator
Witches hunted and hated they live in fear of being caught and purged (killed). One young witch hiding in plan site, is not taking it, she's fighting the only way she knows how. She rescues them before the purging. The guard that hunts her is getting close, and she is maneuvering to save more without getting caught. Doing this will force her to get closer to the biggest danger to her.Love and hate are a very close emotion, the two forces can combust.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. The MC was a bit immature at times but she is a young sheltered girl on her own without wise advice. I did shake my head a few times at her naivety. I knew she was in for some hurt down the road. Sigh :(
I can't wait to continue the series ( )

Saw it in my BOTM February list and ordered straight away.

Such a great fantasy!!! If you enjoyed “One Dark Window” you’ll most likely enjoy “Heartless Hunter”!

Witch and her Hunter, enemies to lovers OR maybe lovers to enemies?!
The story, the tension, a very great romantasy!

Rune and Gideon, he is suspecting that she is the Crimson Moth helping other witches escape while he’s being devoted to the new Republic by executing all witches. She hates him so much but decides to court him to get an easy access on the information where hunters keep the witches so she can rescue them.

But oh boy, they can’t stop thinking about each other. The energy and tension brings them closer and closer.

Gideon’s younger brother Alex is Rune’s best friend and he’s so very in love with her! Alex, Rune and Verity spend a lot of time and helping witches escape the island. Alex hates the idea that Rune is getting closer with Gideon warning her that his older brother is very dangerous considering he’s hunting Rune, the Crimson Moth.

So, will Rune succeed helping to escape all witches, will Gideon catch her? Will Gideon hate her knowing the truth or he’s already in love with her? Will Alex confess his true feelings to Rune? Who she’ll pick? What about Verity, what’s her interest in helping Rune and witches?

Obsessed!!! This book will leave you a little heartbroken and the ending was fantastical! AND the Cliffhanger ..!!

I can’t wait to read the next book!

I highly recommend to read it if it’s not on your TBR yet! ( )

This book beat any expectations I had. Loved the story. The part about how Rune got her blood was really gross but it has stuck with me for days and the more I think about it the more it makes sense and is a smart choice. The death at the end broke my heart. The one person they both loved. I liked that even at the end they are still enemies even though they both have feelings. ( )
