Unusual for chick-lit. When the book opens Kelly is completely disoriented, finally realizing that she has had a loss of memory of the past 5 months. She remembers an awful day - her about-to-be fiance turning into an ex-boyfriend hours after losing her status job. But then what?

The result is a strong book about a strong and interesting woman, and is worth the time to read. ( )

30-year old Kelly McGraw has amnesia. She can't remember anything that happened in the last 5 months, including being fired from her job, breaking up with her boyfriend, selling her beloved Chicago townhome, and the ensuing depression these blows had caused her. But given all these lemons, she chooses to make lemonade. Kelly reinvents her life, all the while wondering what caused the memory loss and what will happen if does start to remember. ( )

This book was a lot of fun to read - the memory loss, which could've been so soap opera, was handled in a refreshing and interesting way; the characters were realistic; the story well done. I really enjoyed it. ( )

Another must-read from Laura Caldwell. You will love this book. Who hasn't dreamed about starting completely over and the possibilities therein? Kelly McGraw finds herself with a real clean slate and hers is a journey that we can all empathize with and enjoy. Caldwell makes us laugh and she makes us think. Hers are stories of substance, friendship, life, and laughter. There is something for everyone in "A Clean Slate" - it is definitely a must-read. Enjoy! ( )
