The report concludes that international agreements on scientific matters are of increasing importance in ensuring that the activities of States are directed for the longer-term benefit of all. However global agreements are of little value without the participation of all major nations, this is shown by the need for the prompt ratification of the Koyto Protocol. Some government departments have inadequate provision of in-house science and more must be done to support collaboration. At every stage there should be more input from outside government and the FCO should review its network of scientific advisors. No library descriptions found. |
