A book about gardening for beginners, really, but made easy for kids. The book has many projects from growing mushrooms, herbs, flowers, and even how to make your own sun dial. The instructions for each project is real simple to understand and to follow. The book even talks about how to care for each types of plants.

I really like this book because I am an avid gardener and am just beginning as well. I especially liked how to begin a garden in a house calling rooting which will allow you to transplant into your garden whatever it is you are going to grow. I really liked how to make a sun dial, too. I've got an organic garden started and this really inspired me.

I definitely would use this book not only with head start children but even into the 12th grade. I don't think it's ever too late or too early to learn how to garden. I think, of course, it would be great for science projects or social studies. An awesome book! ( )
