The title comes from that famous quote "the evil that men do lives on, the good is often interred with their bones".

Vampires from the reign of Caligula dump cursed ashes into Sunnydale's water supply.

The entire town succumbs to mass hysteria and gangs up on the Scooby Gang. In the process of running and hiding, Buffy and some of her friends are captured by the vampires and forced to fight as gladiators. That plot is getting a little over done, but it's not handled too badly.

The subplot involving flashbacks to a Roman slayer is intriguing. ( )
