Cute story about Lola and her terrible cold and how Charlie her older brother tries to find ways to help her feel better. Charlie has an important soccer game to get to, but each time Marv, his friend calls, Lola finds some way to encourage Charlie to stay. What a great big brother. However, staying home around a sick sibling eventually gets the best of Charlie. Now he has a loving sister to keep him company.

Great story about two siblings taking care of each other. This is a nice example of caring and displaying empathy towards others. This book could be used in the classroom during a health lesson to lead into discussions about germs and what to do when you get sick. ( )

Tells the story of the dramatic Lola and her terrible cold, her dutiful brother, and the various ways he tries to keep her entertained. We get to imagine what Lola's germs look like (colorful groovy dancing fellows) and understand why brother ends up catching the cold at the end.

What, Lola bored? Lola is usually very busy—and very funny!—but today she’s really not feeling well! Charlie does everything he can to help, bringing Lola cookies and pink milk and even a bunch of flowers. But the flowers make Lola sneeze and the pink milk tastes green! Even worse, Charlie has promised his friend Marv that he will play in a soccer game, and now Charlie has to leave! Oh, no! How will Lola ever get better without her big brother around?
