Mummies in the Morning transports readers (in the book, the main characters, Annie and Jack) to the time period of Ancient Egypt, where mummies were born. Jack and Annie find themselves running from real mummies- that came alive and trapped inside of dark pyramid walls that seem never-ending. The mystery and suspense are what keeps readers on the edge of their seats throughout the story. A strange encounter with a black cat ends up rescuing the siblings and bringing them to the outside of the pyramid, and eventually out of the land of Egypt.
