Cemetery tour guide Pepper Martin never imagined she'd get to meet rock legend Damon Curtis, the bad boy poet who made millions of teenage girls scream. After all, he kicked the bucket years before she was born. But thanks to her newfound ability to chat up the dead, Pepper's got a front row seat perfect for swooning over the still-sexy Damon's latest lyrics. He's convinced that his former bandmate Vinnie Pallucci murdered him back in ‘71, and he's promised Pepper she won't get any rest or peace until she helps him prove it. But when Pepper goes behind the music, she finds Vinnie with a knife in his heart and the rest of the band members running for their lives. And if Pepper doesn't snare the killer soon, Damon's next hit from the great beyond might be her swan song.… (more)

Pepper meets rock legend Damon Curtis, bad boy poet, and lead singer. She needs to use her investigative skills to find out who murdered him. Only then will he be able to pass over.

This series just keeps getting more and more interesting. ( )

Pepper is a go-getter. She's talking to dead people, leading tours of the cemetery, talking to dead people, helping the dead rock star....
I do enjoy this series. The titles are so 'punny' which I always love and Pepper is so cool. I wish I had her taste in clothes and ability to accessorize. But I definitely wish I had her go-get-'em 'tude. She really has to make a go of it after the rug gets pulled out from under here (see DON OF THE DEAD for the reason why) and she takes ghost bull by the horns and does what needs doing to get her spectral charges on the right side of the Light.
Highly recommendable!!!
Five rock'n'roll ghost beans...... ( )

Pepper Martin: seer of the dead, daughter of a convict, guider of cemetary tours...this is probably the most charming character in paranormal mysteries currently. She is just so darn likeable! In the third installment Pepper finds herself tracing the murder of a sixties rock star. Unfortunately she also finds herself oddly attracted to the long dead crooner. There actually ended up being a couple of mystery plot lines which developed nicely into a cohensive and interesting conclusion. One thing I have to add to my two previous glowing reviews of this series by Casey Daniels is the fact that Pepper actually undergoes some self awareness and character development as the story line progresses. That's just another sign that Pepper Martin is not your average "I see dead people" storyline. Pepper has flaws, like everyone, but she shows time and again that she has a good heart. I gave it a four star review instead of a five simply because I think I enjoyed the previous two books slightly more than this one, although I can't really put my finger on why. As a whole, I can't recommend this series stongly enough. ( )

This time Pepper is working for the ghost of Damon,a sexy rock star who OD'd in the 60's. He is being held on earth by one of his old band mates, Vinnie, who is channeling him for songs. If Pepper can make Vinnie stop with the black magic, Damon can move on. Afterall, it isn't as if he was murdered, or was he???

I really enjoy these mysteries. They are chick lit but they are more. There is action and character development along with plenty of shoes. ( )
