It was a fun read but beyond imaginable how the Martians could’ve faked so many things (won’t say what as that would be a huge spoiler). There was 1 HUGE historical error, however. The protagonist was watching Ted Williams last home run in his last game at the same time as wanting to hear President JFK’s TV talk on the Apollo project. Fact CHECK:
1. Ted Williams retired in Sept 1960 (Eisenhower was still President and the Nov 1960 election hadn’t been held yet)
2. On May 25, 1961, President John F. Kennedy announced before a special joint session of Congress the dramatic and ambitious goal of sending an American safely to the Moon before the end of the decade.
Surprised the editor of the book did not catch that time & date error.
