2011 Reprint of 1959-1960 Two volume Set. Two volumes bound in one. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. David Martyn Lloyd-Jones was a Welsh Protestant minister, preacher and medical doctor influential in the Reformed wing of the British evangelical movement in the 20th century. He took the view that true Christian fellowship was only possible amongst those who shared common convictions regarding the nature of the faith. This two volume set consists of thirty sermons preached on successive Sundays. The "Sermon on the Mount" is not a code of ethics or of morals; it is a description of what Christians are meant to be. In Studies in the Sermon on the Mount, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones offers a comprehensive exposition of one of the best known but often misunderstood passages in the Bible. With characteristic wisdom, he keeps one eye on Scripture and the other on the world as he explains Christs teaching to modern-day believers.… (more)

A quem ele é aplicável” (Page 16)

An ocean of ink has been spilt commenting on the Sermon on the Mount. This book is a gem floating on that ocean. ( )

Spending each day reading these great sermons from Lloyd-Jones one of the great preaches of England. Former pastor at Westminster in London. I have gained a much better understanding of this section from the book of Matthew. I love the way Lloyd-Jones writes and can hardly wait to sink my teeth into a new biography that I picked up from Banner of Truth publishing. ( )

This weighty tome cannot fail to challenge and inspire any Christian who is serious about their faith. It has taken me more than a year to read it, as it is meaty and requires time to consider each chapter. I plan to go back to the beginning and start again when I have finished, as it has taught me so much. ( )

This book is, without a shadow of a doubt, the very best book I have ever read on the teachings of our Lord in his "Sermon on the Mount." I joyfully recommend this book to anyone who wishes to understand this unique sermon of Jesus Christ. Of all the books written upon this subject, this one book stands alone in its depth and clarity of teaching. It is lightyears ahead of any other material I have ever read about the subject. In my opinion, it stands second only to Christ's sermon itself.
(I will also gladly recommend any book written by David Martyn Lloyd-Jones.) ( )
