When I first read this (1991) I laughed until I cried, literally, and have read it periodically since then. Still ecxellent!

I read this in Harper's Magazine, August 1991 edition, reprinting from Omni, April 1991. ( )

The cover art for this is creepy given the context of the story. Earth is discovered to be inhabited by talking meat and aliens find this to be hilarious because meat are the lowest of the low. They are meat. I laughed, it was short, but I laughed. ( )

A nice how-would-other-beings-see-us sci-fi short. I especially enjoyed the photograph of a person made of ground beef and bacon that was part of this online version. ( )

The thing I love the most is reading about what aliens would think about us. I fully blame one specific thread on Tumblr for this.

But I never read something with this angle and it really made me think, is our form even an effective one? I'm just too much of a dummy to really begin giving an answer to that but it's fun to think about it. ( )
