Only read "Heorot". ( ) This is a follow-up to the anthology: My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding. As with any anthology, some stories were better than others. But this was a fun read and a great introduction to supernatural romance and urban fantasy writers. All-in-all, a fun read. Perfect when you don't want something heavy. A perfect beach read. Stalked by Kelley Armstrong. This is about two werewolves (who appear in a series by Armstrong) who are trying hard to make this a perfect memorable honeymoon until another werewolf appears out for revenge. It was a fun read and made me interested in seeking out the first book in the series, but I don't have time for that right now. (I made a vow to buy no more books until I get rid of some of what I already have.) Heorot by Jim Butcher. This story features Harry Dresden who is trying to find a bride who goes missing right after the wedding. Being Harry, there really isn't any romance in this, but I'm a fan of The Dresden File and really enjoyed this one. I do already have many of the books in this series, so maybe it's time to start on those. Roman Holiday or SPQ-arrrrr By Rachel Caine. I think I've read one or two of her books a while ago. I remember enjoying her style. This is a continuation of the story from My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding. Cecilia Lockhart is married to an undead pirate. This ship that had been cursed and isn't now, thanks to Cecilia, is now visible in our world. It's funny how the pirates interact with the modern world. The media follows them everywhere. But another cursed pirate is out to end their happiness. Her Mother's Daughter by PN Elrod. Set in the 1930s, this is a great supernatural noir. Think Sam Spade if he were a vampire. Elrod really captured the tone of the hard-bitten shamus. Newlydeads by Caitlyn Kittredge. This is set in the author's universe "The Black," where the fae, magic users, and other supernatural types hide in the shadows of the real. Jack and (Pete''s a woman) go on a seaside holiday/honeymoon and encounter some creepy Cthulhu creatures. Pete and Jack are very much low-class Londoners (especially Jack). This one definitely had a horror element to it. The characters were very interesting and unique. They are characters I wouldn't mind reading more about. Where the Heat Lives by Marjorie M Liu. Set well before the series in this world. It's a story about lost love found again. The story was just ok for me after reading some others that were really great. I can't say much about it without giving the story away, Cat Got Your Tongue? by Katie Alister. This was a fun story about a castle haunted by the laird and his wife, while a couple is trying to enjoy their honeymoon. Thumbs up for this one. Half of Being Married vt Lilith Saintcrow. (If this isn't a pseudonym, I'll eat my broom.) A vampire hunter finds out her husband-to-be is a werewolf. They honeymoon at an out-of-the-way B&B and things aren't quite what they seem. The characters were fun. I'd read more about these two. A Wulf in Groom's Clothing by Rhonda Thompson. A city girl marries an outdoorsy guy but neglects to let him know that her idea of roughing it is being more that a block away from a Starbucks. They honeymoon in a remote cabin where she proves she's braver than she thinks when she's left alone and a wolf enters the cabin. A fun read. Anthology of Honeymoon stories. All have a plot line of something supernaturals being on their honeymoon and invariably something goes wrong. Seems to cover a wide variety of things, vampires, werewolves, ghosts and witches. Some stories were great others I thought were terrible. Some that stick in my mind are a noir vampire story where the groom has gone missing. A haunted castle that now functions as a B&B. Werewolves who are on their honeymoon and are being stalked by a younger werewolf. Stalked by Kelley Armstrong 3 stars. It was not good nor bad Heorot by Jim Butcher 5 stars I.m going to read more of his work. Rachel Caine - "Roman Holiday, or SPQ-arrrrr" 5 stars It was really nice Her Mother's Daughter by P.N.
