Nicolas, a young child and first-person narrator, goes on a couple of vacations, one with his family and another to a summer camp. The book is funny and light with a great interplay between the different characters, I enjoy the interaction between his parents. On these vacations Nicolas meets new friends and annoys new adults with his inimitable style.

Each chapter stands on its own pretty well and build into the stories.

A fun and light read, the drawings are nice and a good addition. ( )

Nicholas is back and instead of dealing with his school friends, we see him meeting new friends at a seaside resort in Britanny and at summer camp near the sea (not specified,) I kind of get tired of the boys always getting in fights, but otherwise the stories are cute. I love the line drawings, especially the detail the illustrator has to go through for the crowd scenes. ( )

A brilliant book, entertaining for adults as well as younger readers. I especially enjoyed the illustrations.

Episodic chapters that cover a couple of Nicholas's summer vacations -- one with his parents at a hotel on the beach, one at sleepover camp. Not to my taste, but fun even so. As a narrator, Nicholas has a convincing childlike voice. ( )
