Carillons and bell towers have served an important role in the history of both
music and society. They have represented traditions and landmarks, and have been
included in many ceremonies. Over the ages, carillons and bell towers have had many
admirers. With time, the towers and carillons age. Some become cornerstones of
nostalgic tales and memories passed down through the generations. However, some of
these old towers are being allowed to pass into history. What is happening to these old
towers and carillons?
Today, new carillons and bell towers are being built at a rapid pace. These new
towers are even bigger, better, and more magnificent than their predecessors. What does
the future hold for these new additions? What new uses have been found for the bells?
Bell towers and carillons have had a significant impact on society through their reflection
of musical traditions and cultural heritage. This has evolved to affect many facets of our
lives.
