Fourth time reading this first book in the Brotherhood of War series. It's like meeting up with an old friend you haven't seen for a while. The characters are well known to you. The story may be familiar but still absorbing. W.E.B Griffin is a master storyteller. Highly recommend to anyone who is not familiar with his work to check him out. I'm starting the last book in the series, The Generals. ( )

I just can't put these books down. They just keep coming up on my ipod. I like the Lowell character best: he's filthy rich but is engaged by work in the Army. Confined to staff puke work, he continues to amaze, then punches the pooch. On to book #6, The Generals. ( )

Liked this one too, but it had some of the Griffin laziness. Fine detail of 20 years then skip five years. I would have liked to know what happened then. Maybe its just bad editing.

interesting reading showed how gungho young people are how life, love and your fellow souldier are important and yet life goes on when you loose one or more.
