Sophie Broadmoor adores fancy balls, beautiful gowns, and expensive jewelry. Indeed, she enjoys everything the Broadmoor wealth provides and has earned a reputation as the wildest of the Broadmoor cousins. During a trip to England, she falls head over heels for Wesley Hedrick, a wealthy widower who promises her the world. But Wesley's promises never seem to come true, and soon Sophie finds herself in a very compromising situation. Why does it have to be Paul Medford, the young minister working with her father, who shows up during her worst moment? Paul is full of promises, too--and it's clear that he has feelings for Sophie. Shipped off to Europe with the intent that their male escort supplied by Amanda's father will woo young Fanny and marry her, giving her Uncle complete and total control and access to her legacy, the three cousins manage to outsmart the young man. Meanwhile Sophie falls head over heals for the visiting friend of the titled family with whom they are visiting. He has the proper social connections and the money to make him an acceptable suitor, and Amanda's mother, also traveling with the girls, has no objections to his presence in her niece Sophie's life. Through the course of their long-distance courtship both Sophie and her intended discover that "all that glitters is not gold." The Unexpected Love reveals itself in the closing chapters of the book.
