"This book tells the story of the Lutherans who left Prussia and settled near Buffalo, NY, and in Milwaukee, Freistadt, Lebanon, and Kirchhayn in Wisconsin, between 1838 and 1850. These Lutherans were persecuted and jailed in Prussia, and they came to America seeking religious freedom. Their descendants are now found in the ELCA, Missouri, and Wisconsin Lutheran Synods."
